Updating Family Photos
Last week, my daughter turned three. The perfect time to be updating family photos. Or so I thought. I quickly realised that with my big camera in tow, I was out of the frame and my kids would look back and wonder where mum was. So I quickly decided to leave my ‘big’ camera behind and just take my iPhone with me. That way, I could pass it on to others and actually be in photographs myself! Easy as that.
Not completely. You see my husband is not the keenest of photographers. So one quick snap with me in the frame was about the best I could expect. Too bad if I was bending over or in the middle of speech, I had to be grateful for what I could get. I decided to just soak up the moment in real time and not worry about being in the photographs so much.
The next day it hit me. I give all these beautiful photographs to other mums but have left myself out when it came to capturing with my own family. I soon realised that the last time I booked a family portrait for myself, was when my three year old was in my tummy. It was time to change that! So I was straight on the phone to a family photographer to book in a session for myself.
The session is this Friday coming. I am wondering what to wear, worried about the extra kilos I have on my waist-line and nervously wondering if I will love the photos. Interesting, because when I book people to have a shoot with me, I tell them to not worry about any of that.
With all that said, I really can’t wait to have some snuggles and cuddles with a professional capturing my kids in my arms. It’s long overdue. Three years is too long! I want to exist in photos regardless of my waist line or wrinkles. I want my children to see and feel how much I love and adore them. I want my love for them to be plastered in imagery all over my walls.
If you feel the same, contact me today and I can update your photos in the here and the now!
